RE: Pre-weekend weekend lunch invite 19. A prime anniversary

Yeeee...Memorial Day weekend!

Nonetheless, there's still plans to attempt to go to O'Bagelo's. We'll break the darn doors down if John & the crew are on vacation. There's always the picnic alternative.

Now afterward, despite likely developing into a spectacular weekend, there's a few movies & stuff kicking around. "The Thirteenth Floor" opens this weekend, and despite making their advertising disjoint with the early trailers and plot descriptions I heard, I'd still like to see it. Beyond that, The Dryden is showing "King Kong" on Friday at 8, "Young Frankenstien" on Sunday at 8:00, and tonight at 8:00 is "Mondo Epherema Extaravaganza" which is a collection of some of the worst shorts and trailers from their vault.

I'll be out of town on Sunday and most of Monday, so I'll miss "Young Frankenstien," but that leaves me with the better part of a whole weekend to bum around and do nothing. :-)

The part that isn't very new follows:

For the last few months I've been having lunch at O'Bagelo's on State Street on Saturday at 11:30. The same people who have been going have been coming back, so I guess I'm not on crack about the food being good.

I'll be there at 11:30. For the few of you who haven't been there, it's on State Street between the Federal Building and Frontier Field. It's south of 490 and north of Andrews on the west side of the street (i.e., across from West Group on the east side.) Their sign is flush against the building so it's a little hard to see unless you're looking. They've got a variety of sandwiches on bagels, fresh bread or fresh rolls, and some soups. There are some veggie stuff too, but sometimes they don't make the fried eggplant very early.

Anyhow, RSVP, call, e-mail, or just show up.

I stopped in for coffee this morning and John said they'd be closed this weekend, so I'm moving the "party" to Salena's Mexican Restaurant in Village Gate. They get kind of busy, so we might get split up and/or take out, etc. Nonetheless, I'll be there. There's also California Rollin', the sushi restaurant nearby in Village Gate if people are more excited about that. I think they have tables outside in what used to be a parking lot between the buildings down there.
